Planning a Funeral in WA

Planning a funeral in WA can be a difficult task during such an emotional time. As well as the arrangements involved with a funeral service to ensure it’s a suitable tribute to our loved one, there is also very important administration that must be carried out to do with formalising that a person is deceased and formally notifying the appropriate authorities.

At Remembrance Funerals we ensure that you have the least stressful time possible when organising the funeral of your loved one. We make sure that all the correct documentation is organised and adequately presented to all of the relevant authorities.

Below is the documentation needed for planning a funeral in WA;

What Remembrance Funerals Need From You

Funeral arrangements whether it be a burial service or a cremation service, cannot be completed until a death certificate has been issued by the relevant authorities. If the death has occurred in a medical facility, then a death certificate will be issued by the attending staff. If the death is unexpected or does not occur in a medical facility, an ambulance or physician must be called so that a qualified physician can issue a Medical Certificate of Cause of Death.

There may be certain circumstances in which an autopsy is required to be performed, for example if the death is unexpected or occurs during a surgical procedure. The body will be held by the Office of the State Coroner until the cause of death has been indentified and the death certificate issued.

The team at Remembrance Funerals will organise this process for you and arrange the transfer of the body.

We will need you to provide the following information of your loved one;

  • Full namePlanning a Funeral in WA
  • Full address

For cremations we will also require;

  • Certificate from a medical practitioner who attended the deceased prior to death
  • Permit to cremate, signed by a medical referee

Remembrance Funerals will assist you in making the proper arrangements for organising the required documentation.
